You will find (almost) everything you need to know about volunteer days here.

When are they?
What will we be doing?
What should I bring?
What about kids?
What do these tools look like?

The volunteer days for 2007 are as follows:

April 28, 2007
May 12, 2007
June 23, 2007
July 14, 2007
August 25, 2007
September 22, 2007

Where will they be?

Because the volunteer days will help fill in around this years contract work, the place will depend on the progress of the work crew. The August 25/07 Volunteer Day wil be held at the Sicamous Trailhead. We will continue up the hill from where we left off last time.

What will we be doing?

Most of the work will be breaking ground and cutting trail. It will also require finishing work, such as raking, packing, and refurbishing. We will provide a brief "how-to" before we hit the trail, so don't worry about not having any experience.

What should I bring?

We will have lunch, water and a bunch of tools to use, but there are still some thing that you should have. Here is a list:

  • layered clothing - (you will get warm fast)
  • sturdy footwear (preferably steel-toed)
  • protective eyewear
  • water bottle
  • gloves (with a grippy palm)
  • useful tools - pulaski, pick mattock, adze, rake, hand pruners (make sure to make your tools, so they find their way home)

What about the kids?

We encourage to bring your children, as long as they are okay to be out there for 3-4 hours. The sooner they realize what goes into making trails happen the more they will appreciate them.
