The Barley Station Brew Pub in Salmon Arm is raising a toast to trails with a brand new beer made exclusively for Shuswap Trails called Trail Head IPA.

Planning for resilience and adaptation are growing concerns for trail planners considering sustainability into the future. A recent grant through the Shuswap Community Foundation is assisting Shuswap Trail Alliance leadership draw on mobile technology to improve their ability to design and build more resilient trails.

News Release: January 16, 2018 (Updated January 31, 2018) Sicamous-to-Armstrong Rail-Trail takes a giant step forward   The Shuswap, British Columbia – The Regional District of North Okanagan and the Columbia Shuswap Regional District have successfully concluded the purchase of the the CP Rail Corridor between Sicamous and Armstrong. Working in partnership, Splatsin and the regional municipal governments - along with 1/3rd Provincial funding support announced earlier in the spring by MLA Greg Kyllo and former Minister of Transport, Todd Stone - were able to successfully issue a recent news release announcing the corridor has been purchased and will be "used for recreational opportunities, including walking and cycling, while retaining it for future transportation and economic development needs.

Shuswap Cycling Club Association with Skookum Cycle and Ski and Shuswap Trail Alliance will host trail nights on the Rubberhead Trail System. These will run Monday evenings as posted. They will meet at the 2.5km parking lot on the 110 FSR at 6pm.
