Shuswap Trails launches Weekly Challenge Contest
Wednesday, June 26, 2013The Shuswap, British Columbia – The Shuswap Trail Alliance is piloting a weekly trail challenge to entice people to discover Shuswap Trails all summer. Each week a new trail will be posted from the Shuswap Trails guide inviting people to get out and walk or ride it. Upon completion of the hike a photo or video story is entered. The draw grand prizes include two coveted Shuswap Trail Alliance 2014 February Auction Fundraiser Tickets and a Family Day-pass at SkyTrek Adventure Park.
TrailRider demos at the bike month street fair Saturday
Monday, May 6, 2013The Shuswap, British Columbia – There’s a new set of wheels in town, or should we say “wheel”. The campaign to purchase three TrailRiders for the Shuswap notches up this month with the arrival of a demo doing the rounds throughout May. The one wheeled piece of adaptable equipment has a seat for a disabled person to sit on and bars on the front and back for Sherpa’s to propel the Trailrider forward.

Workshop in the Woods 2013
Wednesday, April 3, 2013The Shuswap Trail Alliance is hosting the second annual Workshop in the Woods (2013), on April 19 and 20. This workshop is part of the Shuswap Trail Alliance Stewardship Program, and is intended for people wanting to learn the ropes of trail building and maintenance. The course runs on Friday evening and Saturday all day (April 19, 20). Saturday's session includes lunch.

Tuesday, February 19, 2013The Shuswap, British Columbia – Sightings of noticeably large bigfoot prints have been showing up throughout the Shuswap this winter! Snow conditions, combined with the hard work of many throughout the region over the last four years to blaze and maintain trails for snowshoe use, have resulted in an unprecedented explosion of local snowshoeing. This Sunday afternoon, the Shuswap Trail Alliance invites you to join in a late winter snowshoe walk on one of the region’s iconic trails in winter – the Enderby Cliffs – or as the cliffs are known in the traditional Secwepemc language: the Tplaqin trail.
